We fully recognize that agriculture is one of the most crucial pillars of comprehensive sustainable development, encompassing its economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Hence, the National Strategy for Agricultural Development has prioritized the development of rural areas and the enhancement of their capacity to increase food production and agricultural products, thereby improving food security. It also emphasizes the sustainable use of agricultural natural resources without harming the environment, preserving ecosystems, enhancing economic opportunities for agricultural producers and investors in agriculture-related activities, improving the investment climate in the agricultural sector, utilizing modern agricultural technologies, improving the competitiveness of agricultural products in terms of quality and price, linking production to market demand, organizing marketing processes, developing value chains, and improving the efficiency of irrigation water use.
In this context, the effort to maintain excellence and promote the Jordanian dates sector is underscored by the organization of the Fourth International Jordanian Dates Festival in collaboration with the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation in the United Arab Emirates. This collaboration leverages the award's accumulated expertise in encouraging researchers, farmers, and exporters involved in date palm cultivation and agricultural innovation, and its significant role in supporting research related to the development of various aspects of the date industry. It also promotes the dissemination of date palm culture at local, regional, and international levels and supports innovations related to the date industry, in cooperation with the Jordanian Dates Association, which serves as the incubator for the Jordanian dates sector.
The 6th International Jordanian Dates Festival 2024 aims to support the production, manufacturing, development of value chains and marketing of Jordanian dates, with the participation of date producers, local and international date marketing, packaging and manufacturing companies, palm cultivation and date production experts, scientific and research institutions, diplomatic missions, international organizations, businessmen, investors and major international buyers, which will provide an opportunity to establish agricultural trade partnerships and an opportunity to exchange experiences and share knowledge in the field of modern technologies and their applications to meet the challenges associated with the production, manufacturing and marketing of dates and display pioneering experiences.
